The Sparx BEAM™ is Sparx Hockey's patented Blade Edge Accuracy Measurement device. Utilizing state-of-the art laser technology, the Sparx BEAM measures blade edges to 1/10,000th of an inch - or less than a third the thickness of a human hair. BEAM gives more accurate results, quicker than any tool I've ever used in 20 years. This means fewer, smaller adjustments are required so skates get done much quicker. I don't use SPARX sharpening machines but I wouldn't want to be without this critical tool ever again, which is why I just purchased my second BEAM unit. When its wall to wall skates here, I can't have the tool in a locked state or out of power. It's exceptional utility demands redundancy. No shop should be using any other edge checking method.

I upgraded from the Sparx V2 to the V3. Which means switching from the manual edge checker to the beam. The Beam makes it so much easier and simplifies the whole process to a few clicks left or right. It’s truly a no brainer and even my kids can operate with 100% accuracy.

It helps so much with fixing edges. I use this Beam unit with every sharpening. Skate are perfect because of this accessory.
